Home Stretch for Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
You probably know that balance of the Wisconsin Supreme Courtis at risk. This election pits Susan Crawford, a current Wisconsin circuit court judge endorsed by all current liberal judges on the court, against Brad Shimel, a Musk-backed Republican who is currently a sitting judge. If Crawford wins, liberals will lock in their majority for at least three more years. We helped elect Janet Protasiewicz and let’s do the same for Susan Crawford.

Hold the Line
Despite the bitter cold, 50 hardy ILS members showed up to urge Congressman Mike Quigley to Hold the Line against Trump’s outrageous, cruel and illegal policies.
Other Indivisible groups are also rallying at their US representatives. Go here to learn more.

No Votes for the Coup
The Trump Administration is out of control, attempting to exercise a mandate they do not have to dismantle our government and harm our neighbors. They are attempting to take power from Congress by canceling federal loans and grants, firing nearly all workers at USAID, shutting down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and giving unelected billionaire Elon Musk access to the Treasury and our personal information.
Democrats cannot be complicit in Trump's coup.

Upcoming Elections
ILS is already hard at work with postcarding, canvassing and phone banking to elect Susan Crawford, candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, in the general election April 1. Here are some other races to watch.

Tell Senators to Shut It Down
From Indivisible Chicago Alliance:
Democrats must get on board and join us in actively opposing his administration. Democrats have to shut it down. No more allowing nominations to pass through the Senate as normal order. No more treating legislation as business as usual. We need our Senators to slow down the process of the Senate by every means they have at their disposal. This includes:

Nix the Nominees!
If you didn’t make it to rally, you still can still write or call our senators and urge them to reject all of Trump’s dangerous, corrupt and incompetent cabinet and other high-level positions. These extremists are poised to seize control of critical government agencies, weaponize federal power, and push a radical agenda that will harm everyday Americans. We must fight back.
Find easy actions on the national Indivis Nix the Noms page.
Or write or call Senators Durbin/Duckworth directly.

Tell Senators: Shut it down
From Indivisible Chicago Alliance: For the first two weeks of Trump's presidency, we have seen Democrats attempt to engage in bi-partisanship, going along with too many of Trump's policies and nominations.
And now we are watching a massive Trump power grab unfold.
Write or call your Illinois US Senators and tell them to shut it down.

Stop Trump’s Power Grab
When: Wednesday 12 noon to 1 pm
Where: Federal Plaza, 230 S Dearborn St., Chicago
Join us for an in-person rally and letter delivery at the offices of U.S. Senators Durbin and Duckworth to demand that they shut down the Trump MAGA power grab. Although the attacks are constant and far-reaching, the focus of this event is the Trump-Musk funding freeze, and the nomination vote of Project 2025 architect Russell Vought to lead OMB.

Trump’s spending freeze is still in effect
In an X post dated January 29, 2025, Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary states:
“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo. Why? To end any confusion created by the court's injunction. The President's EO's on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”
They have not given up yet and neither should we!
Let's continue to tell our reps to fight this with everything they have.

Chicago is ready to resist!
More than 400 people packed our “Continue the Fight” event along with leaders from @indivisibleteam @equalityill @commoncauseillinois @chicagoabortionfund @nationalimmigrantjusticecenter @icirr_il
