Chicago Keeps Its Sanctuary City Status
Thanks to the efforts of immigrant rights groups and their allies like Indivisible Lincoln Square, Chicago is still a welcoming city for immigrants.
The graphic below shows how the alders voted.
Sanctuary City vote by Chicago alders
Alders shown in GREEN voted to keep the welcoming city ordinance. Please take a moment to thank them for their vote. If your alder is shown in red, please call them to express your dismay/disappointment on their vote.

In addition to being targeted by the Trump administration, Chicago also falls within 100 miles of an external boundary. This allows US Customs and Border Control to conduct warrantless stops under certain conditions. The ACLU explains it all here.
