  • Tell Amazon to Ditch Plastic Packaging

Tell Amazon to Ditch Plastic Packaging

When you order something on Amazon, you shouldn’t have to order handfuls of single-use plastic along with it.

Amazon makes millions of deliveries every single day. And all too often, those items are delivered in plastic bags and envelopes, which immediately go straight into the trash.

From your trash can, there’s no telling where those flimsy sheets of plastic will go — or how long they’ll linger in our environment, polluting our planet for years after they’ve served their purpose.

Take action: Before Amazon’s shareholder meeting on May 21, send your message saying it’s time to ditch plastic packaging.

  • Urge Congress to Save Public Media

Urge Congress to Save Public Media

Public media is a trusted source of local news, emergency alerts, and educational programming — and it only costs taxpayers about $1.60 per person each year. But now it’s under attack. The White House has proposed eliminating federal funding for public media, issued an Executive Order to block support for PBS and NPR, and is trying to claw back funding that Congress already approved.

Defunding or restricting funds for public media wouldn’t just disrupt these services — it could force stations to shut down entirely, especially in rural and underserved areas, leaving millions of Americans without access to these essential resources.

  • Vote No on Crypto Bill S.394

Vote No on Crypto Bill S.394

We need every Senate Democrat to vote no on a crypto bill that would enable Trump to keep accepting bribes from billionaires, corporations, and foreign governments. We can block S.394 if Democrats unite in opposition, but they’re not there yet, so make sure your senators hear from you ASAP.

Okay, we’re going to talk about cryptocurrency. We promise, we won’t get too in the weeds here—because it’s not the fine details that are important.

It’s that Democrats are currently working with Republicans on a bill called the GENIUS Act that claims to “regulate” a strand of crypto called “stablecoins.” But in reality, it would enable illicit uses of crypto currency, open the door to blatant frauds, and imperil financial stability. Oh, and Trump and his family are currently using their own crypto currency to corruptly funnel money to themselves, and this bill would do nothing to stop that.

The Trump family launched multiple cryptocurrencies that they’re already using to accept bribes. The United Arab Emirates is using one of Trump’s cryptocurrencies for a $2 billion deal—making Trump millions. Trump is using his other cryptocurrency to run a pay-to-play scheme, where the top investors get to attend a fancy gala at the White House and face time with the President.

As Senator Chris Murphy put it, Trump is effectively posting his “Venmo or CashApp online for every corporate interest and foreign government to funnel money directly into his bank account.” And yet, some Democrats want to pass a crypto-friendly bill that does nothing to reign this in, enabling Trump’s crypto corruption.

We can stop them, if we make enough noise. Call your Democratic Senator now and tell them to stop Trump’s crypto corruption and oppose the GENIUS Act.

Boost Voter Turnout in Our Neighborhood

Join Indivisible Lincoln Square as we knock doors as part of the 40th Ward Civics Research Project.

For local Chicago elected officials, the decisive election is the Primary Election, not the General Election. But, Primary Elections often see lower voter participation compared to General Elections. This research project aims to uncover why this happens and how we can mobilize our community members to make their voices count in every election cycle.

The first canvass is Saturday, May 4, 2025 and more cavasses will be scheduled.
