Tell Your Reps: No War In Iran

A war with Iran could ignite a regional conflagration and put our troops and countless civilians in harm’s way. Our constitution is clear: Only Congress has the power to declare war!

👉 Call your senators and representatives at the US Capitol Switchboard (202) 224-3121 and ask them to oppose the US going to war with Iran.

✅ Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952 or at other numbers listed here

✅ Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506 or at other numbers listed here

✅ Contact Mike Quigley at 773-267-5926 or at other numbers listed here

Demand that Congress opposes the war with Iran and supports the War Powers Resolution that ensures Congress must explicitly authorize a declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military force, without preventing the US from defending itself from imminent attack.

Help Start A Lincoln Square Rapid Response Team

Looking to get more involved with Indivisible Lincoln Square? We’re looking into starting a “Rapid Response Team” as the Trump administration increases its deportation efforts. Rapid response leaders are primarily responsible for monitoring a hotline for alerts in the Lincoln Square neighborhood and calling on rapid response team members for action (confirming the ICE sighting, canvassing the area, contacting affected family members, etc.).

  • Oppose the Big Beautiful Bill

    Oppose the Big Beautiful Bill

On May 22, 2025, the House narrowly passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act, H.R. 1, with a 214-215 vote, mainly along party lines, sending it to the Senate. House committees are finalizing their parts of a Republican-led budget reconciliation bill that includes massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, paid for by deep spending cuts and policy rollbacks.

These include gutting Medicaid, cutting student aid by $351 billion, reducing federal employee benefits, slashing climate programs, and imposing harsh work requirements on SNAP recipients.

👉 Call your Senators and demand they oppose this destructive bill.

    • Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952 or at other numbers listed here

    • Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506 or at other numbers listed here

    Call Script:

Hi, my name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling on [SEN NAME] to oppose H.R. 1, the House budget reconciliation bill, and its harmful cuts to vital government programs.

[OPTIONAL]: Specifically, I’m very concerned about… [PICK 1-3 budget provisions]

    • the cuts to student aid, (and)

    • the cuts to federal worker retirement benefits, (and)

    • the defunding of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, (and)

    • the roll back of the Inflation Reduction Act’s urgent climate-focused programs, (and)

    • the cuts to SNAP, (and)

    • the elimination of gun silencer taxes, (and)

    • the remittance tax on immigrants, (and)

    • the partisan attack on federal regulations.

Congress should pass a fair and responsible budget that helps working families and communities, not one that slashes our benefits to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. Thank you for your time and consideration.

  • Protect our National Parks and Public Lands

Protect our National Parks and Public Lands

Public lands belong to the people — not the fossil fuel industry. But a recent power grab threatens to hand over control of our national parks and 500 million acres of public land to Big Oil.

Without Senate confirmation, former oil and gas executive Tyler Hassen has been appointed to a powerful leadership role at the Department of the Interior. And on April 24, the Trump-appointed Interior Secretary signed an order granting him sweeping control over the agency’s budget and operations — with no public input or oversight.

Hassen’s deep industry ties are incompatible with protecting public lands. This move signals a dangerous shift: from conservation to exploitation.

Tell your members of Congress: our public lands are not for sale.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to demand [REP/SEN NAME] protect our National Parks and public lands by opposing DOGE employee Tyler Hassen’s appointment to Assistant Secretary of Policy Management and Budget of the Interior. Hassen’s extensive history as an oil and gas executive is completely at odds with the preservation and management of public lands, and DOGE has no place in management of our public lands.

  • Take Action to Protect the Department of Education

Take Action to Protect the Department of Education

    Action via Indivisible:

Last week Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at eliminating the Department of Education, though he lacks the authority to unilaterally abolish a federal department established by Congress. This order instructs Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to facilitate the department’s closure, setting the stage for further action while avoiding immediate legal challenges.

Trump’s goal is to weaken public education by starving the department of resources, potentially leading to its legislative abolition by Congressional Republicans. This follows recent layoffs of half the department’s staff.

Without the DOE, millions of students and families will face dire consequences: ballooning class sizes, loss of teaching jobs, and diminished support for students with disabilities. Title IX protections will be rolled back, and funding for disadvantaged students will be jeopardized.

This effort aligns with a long-standing GOP goal to dismantle federal oversight, driven in part by billionaires seeking profit from privatized education. We must organize to protect public education and push back against this assault.
