SUMMARY:Pots to the People: Seconds for the First Amendment
DESCRIPTION:Pots to the People is a grassroots movement to inspire civic engagement in Chicago’s ceramics community. Local potters donate their “seconds” (functional but imperfect pots). Inside\, they tuck a handwritten note answering the question “what do you fight for?” The buyer “purchases” the cup by making a $25 online donation to the ACLU. This event spares some beautifully imperfect pots from the landfill while encouraging lively conversations about defending our democracy. Our second annual event takes place Saturday\, September 5th from 10-3pm\, at the “People Space” at the corner of Damen and Leland. \nImperfect pots for a more perfect Union! Let’s make every “second” count! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSource: https://www.instagram.com/pots_to_the_people/
